This Privacy Policy explains how Soft Launch ("the app," "we," "us," or "our"), developed by Grind Gurus LLC, handles information when you use the Soft Launch iOS application.
Our Core Principle
Soft Launch is designed to be private by default. The app has no server, no account system, no analytics, and no advertising. Your data never leaves your device.
Data We Access
Soft Launch reads the following data from Apple Health, with your explicit permission:
- Heart rate samples: used to calculate your personalized Zone 2 and Zone 3 training boundaries and weekly zone minutes.
- Sleep analysis: used to compute nightly sleep totals and weekly sleep debt against age-adjusted targets.
- Date of birth: used to determine your age for heart rate zone calculations and sleep target recommendations.
- Resting heart rate: used in the Karvonen formula to calculate personalized zone boundaries.
- Dietary water, caffeine, and alcohol: read back to display your intake history.
Data We Write
When you log hydration, caffeine, or alcohol intake, Soft Launch writes those entries to Apple Health. This is the only data the app writes. These entries persist in Apple Health even if you delete the app.
On-Device Storage
Soft Launch caches derived data (weekly zone summaries and nightly sleep totals) on your device using SwiftData to improve performance. This cache is rebuilt from Apple Health data if the app is reinstalled. No data is stored remotely.
Data Sharing
We do not collect, transmit, share, or sell any of your data. There are no servers to send data to. There are no third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, or advertising networks in the app.
Children's Privacy
Soft Launch is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
